Freshwater pearls are "real" pearls that have been cultured in freshwater with a little help from man. An oyster shell is opened and a piece of sand is dropped in. Later, the shell is opened and where there once was the sand there now is a pearl. Many of the colors are created with irradiation, but the color stays well. We have had customers dye their own with rit dye. The pearls are sold in 16" strands and range in price from $3.00 to $150.00. The pearls are included in the stone discount that we offer!! ($50+ 15% off, $100+ 30% off). We sell white, peacock, champagne, purple, black, golden, pink, khaki, and peach in a variety of different shapes: potato, rice, button, coin, square, top-drilled, faceted, stick, and side-drilled. We are receiving pearls on a regular basis; come on in and check them out!
